By completing this Extra Transportation Request (ETR) application, I am requesting that my child be picked up and/or dropped off at an address different than the legal address on file with Nash‐Rocky Mount Public Schools. This service is not required by the State of North Carolina, Nash‐Rocky Mount Public Schools has made this available as a courtesy to their students and families. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received by the NRMPS Transportation Department. The guidelines below are used for processing of an ETR:
- Current legal address and ETR address must be within the current school attendance zone and be eligible for transportation.
- Students may only have one bus assignment (regular or ETR) in the AM and one in the PM. These assignments cannot change daily. Requests for multiple stop placements, depending upon the day of the week or other considerations, cannot be accommodated.
- Bus stop will be assigned in accordance with Bus Stop procedures as outlined in the Nash‐Rocky Mount Schools Student‐Parent handbook.
- If student is suspended from any school bus, student is in‐eligible for an ETR.
- Daycares, businesses and commercial addresses are not eligible locations for ETR assignment.
- Space must be available on ETR route. Students who are assigned by their current legal address cannot be displaced.
- School Bus routes cannot be modified (deviation, additional miles, additional time) to accommodate the ETR assignment.
- ETR assignments can take up to 20 school days for processing.
- Please include any additional information (documentation/calendars) that would be helpful in processing this request. By signing this document, I certify the information provided is accurate and hold harmless Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools and their employees for any liability related to providing services requested on this ETR.
By signing this document, I understand that the School Bus Stop procedures as outlined in the Nash‐Rocky Mount Public Schools Student‐Parent Handbook still apply to this ETR. This ETR will expire on the last day of school unless otherwise noted on this form. This ETR can be suspended, modified or discontinued by Nash‐Rocky Mount Public Schools for any reason. In the event of any changes, the Parent/Guardian will be notified.
